Meet your local friend (guide) at Tawaramachi Station. Just a short walk from the bustling Senso-ji Temple lies Kappabashi, the artisan district that supports professional chefs. Kick off a scavenger hunt for hidden "Kappa" icons while hearing the legend of the mythical creatures that saved the town.

2. A One-Coin Treasure Hunt at "Dengama"

Your first highlight is "Dengama," a wholesaler gathering ceramics from all over Japan. The wagons out front are piled with beautiful small plates and chopstick rests you can grab for just a few dollars. Learn the difference between clay (earthenware) and stone (porcelain) firing, and dig up your own treasures that easily fit into your suitcase.

3. Touch the Craftsmanship of "Kiriko" Glass Art

Next, visit "tsuchiya," a studio and shop specializing in delicate Japanese cut glass called "Kiriko." Compare the sharp cuts of Edo Kiriko, the beautiful color gradients of Satsuma Kiriko, and the kaleidoscope reflections of Tenma Kiriko. Witness the true depth of Japanese craftsmanship.

4. Choose Your Ultimate Japanese Knife

Finally, visit a specialty knife shop inheriting the forging techniques of samurai swords. Based on your preference, we’ll guide you to either a rustic traditional shop (Tsubaya) or a sleek modern store (Kama-Asa). We will walk for about 60 minutes, so please wear comfortable walking shoes and clothing.
