🥷 What You’ll Experience

1. Walking the History of “Rainbow Town”

We begin in Shinjuku-sanchome and head toward the heart of Nichome.
While the streets may feel open, first-time visitors often find the local norms confusing.
Along the way, we point out key community landmarks—such as an HIV support center and Japan’s first permanent LGBTQ+ center—sharing stories of how solidarity shaped this neighborhood.

2. LGBTQ+ Life in Japan Today

As we walk, your guide provides deeper context.
Japan’s history, social norms, and pace of change differ from those in Western countries. We discuss the current realities of LGBTQ+ life in Japan—its challenges, progress, and nuances—often overlooked in standard sightseeing tours.

3. Diversity Around Golden Gai & Kabukicho

Next, we pass through the narrow alleys of Golden Gai, long known as a refuge for artists, writers, and minorities.
We then move toward Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, where we discuss modern perspectives on gender diversity, including Japan’s approach to gender-neutral facilities and the public response to them.

4. Your Passport to the Night

The tour ends right near the nightlife action.
Your guide shares a curated list of foreigner-friendly mix bars and venues featuring drag performances.
By the end of this 60-minute walk, you’ll feel ready to step through the noren curtains and enjoy the night with confidence.
