🥷 What You’ll Experience
1. Put Down the Guidebook and Hit the Streets

After meeting up, we start with a quick orientation. Instantly clear up any worries or questions you have right after arriving in Tokyo! Skip the overwhelming research; we will teach you the "street smarts" you need for your entire stay in Japan. Your local best friend (guide) will break down the invisible cultural walls so you can explore with confidence.
2. Ameyoko's Hype and the "Tataki-uri" Experience

Head to the Ameyoko shopping street, which still carries the vibrant, raw energy of post-war black markets. Here, you'll challenge the famous "snack street auction." Hand a 1,000 JPY bill directly to the energetic vendor and grab a massive bag of snacks in this interactive local entertainment.
3. Scout the Deep Red Lantern Alleys

We'll scout popular local Izakaya alleys, including the famous street-drinking spots under the Ueno tracks that aren't meant for standard tourists. Learn unique rules like "Otoshi" (table charges) and "Cash Only" policies while safely enjoying this deep local vibe with your local best friend.
4. The Silent Forest and Beautiful Shrine Etiquette

Escape the chaotic neon streets, pass through the red torii gates of Hanazono Inari Shrine, and enter the silent forest of Ueno Park. Master the traditional "Two Bows, Two Claps, One Bow" etiquette at the majestic Ueno Toshogu Shrine, where a real Shogun rests. Experience the contrast between dynamic and static, and finish the tour fully equipped to explore the city on your own!
